Board of Directors
The Board of Directors guides DCS. It helps us create our mission and vision and approves and monitors the budget. It also oversees policy development.
The Board represents the people we serve. A majority are people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind or Late Deafened. The Board makes every effort to reflect San Diego’s socioeconomic, geographic, and diverse population. Board members are selected based on interest and skills. DCS also looks at experience that can contribute to the Board’s work.
DCS’ Board meets monthly with the exception of December. The meeting takes place at the DCS Headquarters in Mission Valley. Several times a year, the Board will meet at other locations in the County. All Board members serve as volunteers.
