DR. GHALY: I have been checking in with each county to see how they are doing with the pandemic. I was told things have been improving and they’d have everyone quarantined for two weeks immediately whenever they feel not well in order to recover. Even the number of COVID-19 patients at hospitals has been dropping dramatically. However, this is not over yet. Please continue to follow the guidelines to prevent the coronavirus from spreading again.  We have been working with some counties that still haven’t improved yet. We continue to come up with different solutions and change the guidelines until we find a solution that works well after a couple of weeks then we will continue to use those specific solutions for that county. There’s no one solution that works for all counties.  If a county is coded as Purple or Red, this means that the virus is widespread and substantial with most businesses being closed with only a few businesses able to open due to too many people having the coronavirus.  Counties that are coded as Orange are considered to be Moderate. Yellow is Minimal and those counties will be allowed to have more businesses open. The goal is to have all counties to be in the Yellow/Minimal category. The goal is to have all counties improve to the point we can categorize them as improving from Purple, being widespread, to Yellow, being minimal.

DR. GHALY: Because people continue to die due to the coronavirus which is exactly what we want don’t want. Each time someone dies because of this pandemic our hearts are deeply saddened. Also, those who came back from college/university, please quarantine for a while until it is safe for you to come out of quarantine. If you don’t feel well, then please contact someone right away to get some help and they will let you know what you need to do to be safe and for everyone else as well.

We also have the flu shot as we get ready for the flu season. We have to keep people who have the flu and people who have COVID-19 separate. They can’t be in the same room in medical facilities. So, be sure you go to the right place for what you need based on whether you have the flu or if you have COVID-19. Either way, our medical staff are ready to serve you. Please be safe, save lives by following our guidelines.  Thank you.
