Deaf Services Advisory Council (DSAC)

The purpose of this council is to ensure that input from the constituent communities served by DCS is taken into consideration in determining service needs and priorities for the agency. This community input is a central element of the “Of, By, & For the Deaf” philosophy.

📌 Monday, 10/19:

The nominations are now open for anyone who wants to become a DSAC officer or community member. Review of the DSAC Bylaws is required for those interested in becoming part of the DSAC. Deadline for the nominations is Sunday, 11/1.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to post their video online, preferably on YouTube (with included transcript for accessibility), on why they should be selected to become an officer.

Candidates are required to send their video link to AZERNOVOJ@dcsofsd.org by Wednesday, 11/4 to be posted on this webpage.

Live Questionnaire will be recorded for those who are unable to attend. Electronic vote submission will be emailed to registered participants immediately after the meeting.

MEETING DATE TBD….

DSAC Meeting announcing new DSAC Officers. From there DSAC officers will take over running the meeting and begin voting on the nominations until 7 community member positions are filled.

The DSAC officers and newly elected community members will discuss the next meeting date, how often they will meet and agenda for the next meeting.

The newly elected DSAC officers and members must sign DCS paperwork as stated in the DSAC bylaws Section 9.7. The newly elected officers and members will also need to set a date for a training which will then be announced on the DSAC webpage. Thereafter, DSAC officers and members will begin to receive emails from DSAC@dcsofsd.org.
