ProTactile Immersion: Medical Setting; Saturday, May 2, 2020; WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION ProTactile Zone style workshop that holds small group instruction that include dialogues, hand-on activities, and immersion led by DeafBlind educators. This workshop will focus on social movement and past to current practices in ProTactile and how interpreters and medical staff impact DeafBlind individuals through their professional interaction in medical settings. The groups will also dive deeper into why ProTactile is critical to today’s evidence and research-based practices and how contact space is established and utilized.; EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES 1. Exemplify and reflect on interpreters’ and medical staffs’ attitudes and DeafBlind Autonomy in medical setting 2. Consider benefit and impact of ProTactile and its practice in working with DeafBlind individuals 3.
