Rent Assistance

April 3, 2020

Did you lose hours at work? Lose your job? Are you unable to pay rent? The Mayor of San Diego has ordered that landlords cannot evict you if you can’t pay rent in this pandemic. Contact us ASAP to get you funds from United Way of San Diego who can help with your rent and utility assistance.

If you are a low-wage worker who has experienced job loss or a reduction in pay since March 1, 2020 as a result of COVID-19, and seek assistance with paying your utility bill or rent/mortgage, you may be eligible for assistance. Eligibility is based on financial need, using United Ways of California Real Cost Measure for San Diego County. Taking inflation into consideration, UWSD defines “low-wage” as an hourly rate of $22.25 and below. Note that utility payments will only cover the following: gas, electric, water, trash, telephone, and internet.
