GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Compliance Administrator supports the over site and implementation of the agency’s strategic plans, policies and operations in accordance with compliance of contracts. The Compliance Administrator serves as compliance officer, serving as lead contact for contract requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates contract renewals, amendments, and budget revisions in collaboration with department directors and Executive Director.
- Reviews and evaluates program goals, general operations and staffing needed in order to make recommendations to the Executive Director (ED) and Leadership Team.
- Collaborates with Executive Assistant to assess the types of training individual staff members and departments would most benefit related to compliance.
- Monitors department timelines and goals to ensure efficiency of contracts.
- Assists ED and Accountants in the development of department budgets and expense allocations.
- Collaborates with ED in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for review and approval for the Board of Directors.
- Serves as Compliance Officer, ensuring all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of the agency and in compliance with all federal, state, and city regulations, including accreditation, funding, certification and
licensing requirements - Works closely with department directors to provide educate, support, develop, establish, and execute department policies and procedures to ensure overall compliance objectives.• Maintains agency asset inventory policy and log.
- Oversees monitoring, tracking and compliance with all government contracts and institutional grants; coordinates with project staff to resolve contractual issues
- Ensures and maintains procedures for contractual record keeping and files to meet the reporting of statistics and requirements of grants and contracts of the agency.
Miscellaneous:
- Collaborates with (ED) to coordinate and oversee the provision of fundraisers and events
- Attends Deaf Community events and assists in determining the ongoing needs of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind and Late Deafened Communities
- Works with (ED) to coordinate public relation strategies designed to educate the general public about Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind and Late Deafened people, services and resources
- Attends off-site meetings as the agency representative, upon request
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- General office work, including assisting co-workers as needed
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and productivity
- Serve as a liaison between DCS and DCS ’advisory groups
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Administration, Business, or a related field, required
- Specialization or major in Deaf related topics and/or Public Administration also acceptable/desired
Experience:
- Minimum of three- five years of documented experience in related field
- Minimum of one-two years of compliance experience in for-profit and/or non-profit organization with federal, state, and city regulations.
- Thorough familiarity with American Deaf Culture and knowledge about Deaf and Hard of Hearing people
- An understanding of current issues related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people
- Experience in business administration including experience working alongside
- Accounting and Human Resources professionals; basic knowledge of their practices
Skills:
- Fluency in American Sign Language
- Ability to communicate effectively with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people using a wide variety of communicative styles
- Skilled in motivating, developing and directing people as they work through both leadership and management techniques• Excellent written English, required
- Ability to advocate persuasively and firmly in person and by correspondence
- Must have the ability to supervise and work effectively with others
